Rent Land Rover Defender 2025 in Dubai

Land Rover Defender rental in Dubai

The Defender is the Land Rover built first for rough ground. The current generation keeps the upright shape, the flat roof and the side-hinged tailgate with the spare wheel of the original, on a modern body with permanent four-wheel drive and, on many versions, air suspension that raises the car for sand and lowers it on the motorway. It comes in several lengths: the short two-door 90, the four-door 110 that most people rent, and the longer 130 with a third row.

Rentop is a marketplace: each Defender on this page belongs to a licensed rental partner in Dubai, and you book it at the price that partner sets.

Today 7 cars can be booked, from AED 499 to AED 1,200 per day.

How much does it cost to rent a Defender in Dubai?

The price depends on the body length, the engine (up to the V8 at the top of the range), the trim and options, the model year and the length of the rental. The table above shows every listing with its own daily, weekly and monthly price.

Prices start at AED 499 per day and go up to AED 1,200.

By the week, a Defender starts from AED 3,799.

By the month, it starts from AED 10,999.

Longer rentals lower the cost per day: see our weekly car rental and monthly car rental pages, and our guide on how much it costs to rent a car in Dubai.

Rent a Defender with no deposit

Some partners rent the Defender with no deposit: nothing is blocked on your card, and each listing shows whether a deposit is needed before you book. Every car of this kind is on our no deposit car rental page.

6 of the Defender listings need no deposit, from AED 499 per day.

When a deposit is required, it ranges from AED 3,500 to AED 3,500 depending on the car.

Why rent a Defender in Dubai

• Built for sand: four-wheel drive, terrain programmes and generous ground clearance make it one of the most capable SUVs you can rent for a desert day.
• Space for a family: the 110 seats five with a large boot, and some versions add extra seats for children.
• A style of its own: it looks at home both at a beach club in Jumeirah and on the streets of Arabian Ranches.
• Comfortable every day: despite its looks it is quiet and smooth on Sheikh Zayed Road, with a modern cabin and a high view of the traffic.

Taking a Defender off the road

The Defender is one of the few rental SUVs truly designed for dunes and wadis, but each partner sets its own rules for off-road use and for driving on sand. Read the listing or ask the partner before you plan a trip to the desert: each partner sets its own conditions for driving off paved roads, and the insurance details are on the car page.

Alternatives to the Defender

For the same off-road spirit with more luxury, compare the Mercedes-Benz G63. For a large and robust family SUV, look at the Nissan Patrol or the Lexus LX. Within the brand, the Range Rover Sport is more road-focused. Every model is on our Land Rover page.

Mileage, Salik and delivery

Dubai road tolls (Salik) are counted during the rental and paid at the end of it. Extra kilometres are charged at the rate shown on each listing, and insurance details are on each car page.

Each rental includes around 250 km per day, and extra kilometres cost from AED 0.50 to AED 15 per km depending on the car.

The partner brings the car where you are: your hotel, your home, your office, Dubai Hills Estate or Dubai Airport. You check the car and your documents together, and you pay at that moment.

Documents you need

UAE residents: a UAE driving licence and an Emirates ID. Tourists: a passport, a visit visa and your home driving licence. Licences from the UK, the United States, Canada, most European countries and many others are accepted as they are; for other countries, add an International Driving Permit. The minimum age depends on the partner and is shown on each listing.
