• Neighbouring Business Bay and Downtown Dubai, a short drive away.

Who rents a car in Dubai Design District

d3 is the home of the city's fashion, design and creative businesses. Designers, architects and agency teams drive to clients, suppliers and shoots all over Dubai. Students and staff of the design institute need a car to commute. During Dubai Design Week and the other events held in the district, visitors and exhibitors rent for a few days to get between d3, their hotel and the rest of the city. The district sits a little apart from the Metro line along Sheikh Zayed Road, which makes a car especially useful here.

How much does it cost to rent a car in d3?

The district does not change the price: a car costs the same in d3 as anywhere else in Dubai. The category, the length of the rental and the deposit decide it. The table above shows the starting price of each category today.

Renting by the week starts from AED 500, and by the month from AED 1,475.

Driving and parking in d3

d3 is reached from Al Khail Road, which links it quickly to Business Bay, Downtown and the rest of the city, with Ras Al Khor Road close by. Rush hours are busy on Al Khail Road, so plan around them for meetings. Salik toll gates on the main roads are counted during the rental and paid at the end of it.

The district has car parks for its buildings and visitors. Check the conditions posted at the entrance, and ask your building or your office reception how guests park.

Each rental includes around 250 km per day, enough for a day of client visits and a shoot across town.

From d3 to the airport and the creek

Ras Al Khor Road leads towards Dubai International Airport, and you can also have the car delivered at Dubai Airport when you land. Across the water, Dubai Creek Harbour is close, and Meydan is a short drive down Al Khail Road.

Documents you need

UAE residents: a UAE driving licence and an Emirates ID. Tourists: a passport, a visit visa and your home driving licence. Licences from the UK, the United States, Canada, most European countries and many others are accepted as they are; for other countries, add an International Driving Permit. The minimum age depends on the partner and is shown on each car page.
